The successful candidate will be tasked with leading all aspects of application development, from architecting a cloud-native microservices platform to owning and modernizing legacy applications. Collaboration with the CTO and Head of Data is essential to ensure that the architecture aligns with business and data strategies. The role also involves building and mentoring a high-performing development team, setting engineering standards, and delivering high-impact tools that enhance investment research and decision-making.Applicants for the Head of Development position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' of hands-on engineering experience, with a recent focus on production systems. A background in Risk Technology, particularly in areas such as exposure management and scenario analysis, is a mandatory requirement. The role demands deep expertise in Python and microservices architecture, as well as a proven track record in building and deploying AWS-native systems. Strong architectural thinking, experience in leading small, high-impact teams, and a player-coach mentality are also key qualifications. The ideal candidate will have a high standard of coding, be fluent in CI/CD, testing frameworks, and monitoring tools, and possess strong communication skills to engage with business and investment stakeholders.
