Role: Senior DevOps EngineerLocation: McLean, VAExperience: 10+ yearsEligibility: Must be a U.S. Person (required for AWS GovCloud / ITAR-controlled workload access)About the Role: We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, automate, and operate secure, highly available cloud infrastructure supporting government and regulated workloads. You will own the CI/CD and GitOps pipelines, harden Kubernetes platforms, and serve as the technical authority for cloud reliability and deployment automation across the team.Key Responsibilities • Architect, deploy, and operate production workloads on AWS, including AWS GovCloud (US) environments with their associated compliance and access constraints. • Build and manage Kubernetes platforms, including Amazon EKS — cluster provisioning, scaling, networking, RBAC, and upgrades. • Own GitOps-based continuous delivery using ArgoCD, including application sync strategies, rollout/rollback, and drift detection. • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab (runners, pipeline-as-code, artifact and container registry management, security scanning gates). • Implement Infrastructure as Code with CloudFormation and Terraform for repeatable, auditable provisioning across environments. • Establish observability, alerting, and incident response practices to meet uptime and reliability targets. • Embed security and compliance controls into the delivery pipeline (secrets management, image hardening, least-privilege IAM).Required Qualifications • 10+ years in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering. • Deep, hands-on AWS expertise, with direct experience operating in AWS GovCloud (US). • Production experience running Kubernetes and/or EKS at scale. • Proven GitOps delivery with ArgoCD. • Strong CI/CD pipeline ownership in GitLab. • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation and Terraform) and scripting (Bash, Python or similar). • Must be a U.S. Person. • Able to work from McLean, VA.Preferred Qualifications • Experience with federal compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, ITAR, CMMC) and regulated cloud environments. • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer Professional). • Background supporting government or public-sector clients.
