To learn more please visit www.despatch.com.Position Summary:This position will support Despatch's diverse industrial oven portfolio in various ways, including:Modifications of existing products per customer requirementsNew product development, design and testingSustaining engineering of current products and value engineeringWorking collaboratively with mechanical and software engineering, designers, application engineering, product management, purchasing and manufacturingEducation required: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field, and 0 - 3 years' experienceSkills required:Interest and ability to design, modify and support industrial ovens from 120 VAC to 600 VAC 3-phaseExperience with multimeters, data-loggers, electrical troubleshootingUnderstanding of electrical panel layouts and components, creating and reading schematicsExperience with Design-for-Manufacturability and Bills of MaterialsEffective as both an individual contributor and in collaborative teamsComputer skills should include PC operation with Windows, Word, Excel, 2D AutoCadMust have good English verbal and written communication skillsEssential functions of the job (responsibilities):Modify ovens per customer specifications, update electrical schematics, assembly drawings and manualsUpdate Bills of Material using QAD enterprise resource planning softwareDesign electrical panel layouts per accepted standardsSpecify various electrical components including motors, heaters, SSRs, breakers, fuses, switches, valvesPerform testing on components and systems and provide information transfer from Engineering to other departmentsConducts analyses or tests of a routine degree of complexity which pertains to the development of new designs, methods, materials or processes and provides recommendations accordinglyMay prepare plans, specifications and cost estimates for assignments of moderate difficulty where technical supervision provides an outline of tasks to be performed and suggestions as to methods of approach and procedures to be followedWorking Conditions/Physical demands:Primarily office setting, but includes work in manufacturing and lab environmentsAble to sit/stand at a desk/PC for long stretches and able to use standard office equipmentAble to visit the production areas to address Engineering concerns, respond to manufacturing questions and identify opportunities for improvementAble to travel up to 10% to other locations for meetings, seminars, training, customer site visits, etc...This position requires sitting, standing, walking and lifting up to 25 poundsThere is no relocation assistance or employment sponsorship for this position.Compensation Information:The pay rate will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications and prior experience. The range for this position is :$75,000 - $88,500 (annually).
