Billing Specialist

Location: Remote- M-F work between 6am-6pm CSTCompany: Minnesota Autism CenterSalary Range: $51,200 to $56,000 DOEWe are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Billing Specialist to join our team. As a Billing Specialist, you will gain hands-on experience in the financial workings of billing, follow-up and reimbursement for autism services. This role is ideal for someone who is well-versed in medical billing, follow-up, payment posting, denials, appeals, and has the ability to support all areas where needed.This is a remote position. We are only considering candidates that live in the following states: Florida, Iowa, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Rhode Island and Texas.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport Revenue Cycle Management with day-to-day operations. Verify insurance and Medical Assistance (MA) coverage prior to services being rendered. Contact families regarding coverage. Assist with client setup and profile maintenance. Assist with Medicaid and Commercial Insurance billing. Post payments received from commercial insurances and Medicaid. Ensure accurate data as it relates to charge entry, posting receipts, and adjustments. Respond to correspondence and denials from insurance companies. Gather clinical records for insurance requests. Complete miscellaneous assignments from the Revenue Cycle Manager and other management as needed. Work collaboratively to support all areas of billing and reimbursement as necessary. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times. QualificationsEmployee must pass all state and federally mandated criminal background checks. Employee must possess a high school diploma. Employee must meet all Minnesota Autism Center qualifications, training guidelines, and application requirements. Well-versed in medical billing, follow-up, payment posting, denials, appeals, and has the ability to support all areas where needed. Education and experience in medical billing is required. Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel proficiency. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges. BenefitsGain hands-on experience in autism services. Opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals.
