This role ensures equitable access to the curriculum through individualized instruction, communication development, and collaboration with staff and families.The TOD/DHH plays a vital role in supporting students' academic achievement, language acquisition, and independence.QualificationsValid certification/licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of HearingExperience working with students with hearing loss in educational settingsProficiency in communication approaches such as ASL and/or total communication preferredStrong collaboration and communication skillsKey ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Academic SupportProvide direct instruction in one-on-one and small group settingsDeliver specialized instruction aligned with IEP goalsAdapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needsCommunication DevelopmentSupport language development using communication modes such as ASL, spoken language, or total communicationFacilitate expressive and receptive language growthIEP Development & Case ManagementDevelop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)Track and analyze student progress dataParticipate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team collaborationAudiological & Assistive Technology ManagementManage and troubleshoot hearing technology (hearing aids, FM systems, cochlear implants)Ensure consistent student access to auditory information throughout the school dayConsultation & CollaborationPartner with general education teachers, service providers, and administratorsCollaborate with families and audiologistsRecommend classroom accommodations and modificationsAssessment & EvaluationConduct assessments of auditory, language, academic, and functional skillsUse data to guide instruction and support eligibility decisionsAdditional DetailsAssignment due to vacancyFull-time, weekday scheduleNo guaranteed hours specified
