We are committed to the advocacy for people with disabilities through the creation of a community based upon full equity and inclusion.Schedule:Full-Time: Monday – Friday 9:00AM – 4:00PM (flexibility is required)Some Job Responsibilities:Identifies and mitigates risks related to choking, food aversion, or malnutrition.Conducts nutritional assessments and develop individualized nutrition care plans.Monitors nutritional status and adjusts care plans as needed.Creates and oversees menus that meet dietary guidelines and accommodate special diets (e.g., diabetic, low sodium, modified consistencies).Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams including nurses, physicians, speech therapists, direct support staff, and other clinical staff.Provides training to individuals and staff on health eating, food safety, portion control, and nutrition related protocols.Participates in individualized meetings as needed and contributes to person centered planning.Ensures compliance with OPWDD, DOH, and other regulatory standards.Maintains accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes.Provides feeding tube support and/or guidance to direct support staff as needed.Provides oversight to Registered Dietician.Oversees day to day operations of nutritional services.Responsible to provide direct supervision and training to all direct reports.Keeps Assistant Director of Clinical Services well informed of any issues or concerns related to nutritional services.Job Qualifications:Master’s degree in Nutrition or Dietetics;Registered Dietician in New York State;Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities preferred;Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team;Must have reliable transportation to commute to different sites within the agency;Valid NYS driver’s license preferred;Must be able to perform physical activities such as (but not limited to); twisting, bending, crouching, pulling, pushing;Must be able to sit, walk, and stand for prolonged periods of time;Must be able to lift 50 lbs.What we offer:Generous PTO Package (3–6 weeks)14 paid holidays403(b) retirement plan with employer contributions & matchingPaid training & career development$5,000 per year for tuition & certification assistanceMedical, dental, vision + 24/7 virtual careCareer growth: 80% of our roles are filled through internal promotionsNADSP credentialing with up to $3,250 in rewardsSocial Media:Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/TheCenterforDevelopmentalDisabilites/Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/thecenterfordd/?hl=enAn employee's salary is based on commensurate experience and other qualifications.
