Procurement Buyer

ESC has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Buyer to support a high-performing supply chain organization within a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment in North Reading, MA. In this 8-month contract role, you will be responsible for purchasing materials and equipment, managing supplier performance, supporting procurement operations, and helping mitigate supply chain risks across one of several key business teams. Job Description:Purchase materials and equipment from suppliers, including electro-mechanical assemblies, electronic components, PCB assemblies, hardware, and non-inventory items Manage supplier relationships and support supplier KPI reporting to senior Supply Chain leadership Provide inputs to monthly scorecards and assist with procurement reporting for quarterly business reviews Plan material requirements, manage inventory levels, and maintain schedules within the ERP system Communicate demand, delivery requirements, and schedule changes to suppliers Identify material and supply chain risks and help monitor material flow across the business Partner with Planning teams to communicate risks, constraints, and mitigation strategies Track and manage open purchase orders, delivery updates, and expedite requests Assist Global Commodity Management with supplier performance, supply issues, and new program support Resolve purchase order receiving discrepancies and assist with invoice reconciliation Manage supplier returns, non-conformance reports, return material authorizations, and MRB material processing Identify process improvement opportunities and support cross-functional execution of improvements Must Have Qualifications:5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, materials planning, or supplier operationsCandidates with 3-4 years may be considered if they have strong experience supporting high-volume procurement environmentsStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel Experience using an ERP system for procurement or materials planning Oracle experience is a plus, but not required Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across teams Nice to Have Qualifications:Experience supporting high-volume purchasing or manufacturing-related procurement Familiarity with supplier scorecards, KPI reporting, or quarterly business reviews Experience with inventory planning, supplier risk management, or materials scheduling Experience with process improvement initiatives Strong database or data management skills
