CNC Grinding Setup and Process Technician (Fanuc/Palmary)
1st shift: 6:30am-3pmAbout The RolePicture your morning on the production floor: you power up a Palmary CNC grinder with Fanuc controls, dial in precise settings, and guide parts through exacting cycles that keep quality and throughput on target. As our CNC Grinding Setup and Process Technician, you’ll own the full lifecycle of grinding work—from programming and fixturing to in-process verification and continuous improvement. You will report directly to the Production Supervisor and may receive indirect guidance from a Production Lead.How You’ll Make an ImpactSet up, operate, and perform advanced adjustments on a CNC Palmary Grinder (Fanuc) to meet exact production specs and tight tolerances.Create, refine, and sustain CNC programs, part fixturing, and setup documentation to boost efficiency and consistency.Troubleshoot complex grinding challenges to minimize downtime and stabilize production flow.Verify quality with precision metrology (micrometers, calipers, gauges) and conduct first-piece and in-process inspections; complete all required quality and production records.Coach CNC Grind Operators on setups, troubleshooting techniques, and day-to-day operations.Lead continuous improvement: cut setup times, elevate throughput, refine machining methods, and strengthen safety and quality.Maintain accurate setup sheets, monitoring logs, and process notes; collaborate with Setup Technicians and Engineering to optimize machine performance, programs, and setups.Model safe work practices, use required PPE, and keep the work area clean and organized.Perform any/all other duties as assigned.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Work Environment & Physical DemandsManufacturing environment with frequent lifting up to 50 lbs and occasional lifting up to 75 lbs. Regular hand/finger use for equipment adjustments; moderate reaching, pushing, pulling, gripping, and grasping. Safety gear required, including safety glasses and steel-toe footwear.Schedule & EmploymentFull-time, 40+ hours per week. Standard schedule is Monday–Friday, eight (8) hours per day; exact hours set by management. Occasional overtime, evenings, and weekends may be required to meet demand.What You BringAge 18+.High School Diploma/GED or significant relevant experience.2+ years operating CNC machinery, specifically CNC grinders or lathes.Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, and gauges.Comfort with hand tools (drills, screwdrivers, impacts, etc.).Ability to read/interpret blueprints and part schematics.Ability to read/write, perform basic arithmetic, and follow written/verbal instructions.Preferred5+ years operating CNC grinders or lathes.Prior forklift experience.Core SkillsGD&TCNC ToolingTroubleshooting SkillsCNC Machine Setup & ChangeoverTroubleshooting CNC MachinesShop Math SkillsEquipment You’ll Work WithSurface GrinderManual GrinderCNC GrinderID Grinder MachineOD/ID Grinding Machine
