Performance Dietitian (PD)
LMR Technical Group (LMR) is seeking a Portland Dietitian.

Job Description:
The Performance Dietitian (PD) provides guidance and counseling on nutritional practices to enhance recovery and optimize performance for AFSPECWAR personnel, with the priority on Operators and Direct Combat Support personnel. The PD shall perform administrative and clinical duties within their scope of practice. The contractor shall provide and perform the following services in support of HPO’s HP program for AFSPECWAR personnel, with the priority on SOF Operators and Direct Combat Support Personnel.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide nutritional planning, counseling, and documentation that is guided by evidence-based peer-reviewed literature.
Advise the chain of command on issues pertinent to nutrition and performance nutrition.
Work within their scope of practice, which may include ordering labs.
Provide individual and group counseling for guidance on performance nutrition.
Design and implement performance nutrition programs for SOF personnel in home station, Temporary Duty (TDY), and deployed settings.
Develop nutritional protocols and guidelines for rehabilitation and performance.
Develop and promulgate training materials as requested and/or required.
Serve as an advisor on, supplementary nutrition, supplements, and performance enhancing substances within the HPO program.
Document work performed, utilization, encounters, referrals, and all other information in the Military’s Electronic Health Record and/or the HP Enterprise-wide database as directed.
Participate in peer (record) reviews as directed and required.
Assist other regional AFSPECWAR assets as required.
Other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Possess a master's degree in nutrition science or related field.
Hold certification from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) as a Registered Dietitian (RD).
Hold a specialty certification as a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD). Candidates without CSSD certification may be considered but shall earn the CSSD within six months of hire.
Possess a current and valid state certification/licensure.
A minimum of 3 years or more of demonstrable accumulated experience (continuous and sustained experience preferred) as a Performance Dietitian with individual athletes and groups of athletes at the levels of NCAA Collegiate, Olympic, professional sports, and/or SOF Operators in the accompanying, respective settings.
Possess a current certification in basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to include Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training.
Capable of meeting physical demands of training with AFSPECWAR, including the ability to hike over rough terrain and function in austere environments to observe AFSPECWAR training evolutions and the ability to assist with strength and conditioning testing and training protocols. Ability to lift and manipulate loads and plates up to 25 kilograms.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Desired Qualifications:
Certification as a Certified Strength and conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and/or documented experience in human performance research, and experience working with AFSPECWAR is desired, but not required.
