Our high-delta-V spacecraft platforms support national security, civil, and commercial missions where propulsion capability and rapid execution matter.We are hiring a Senior Accountant to serve as a financial backbone across the company's growing operations, from project setup through audit close. You will own month-end close, project accounting, and government contract compliance in a fast-paced aerospace and defense environment where financial accuracy directly supports flight programs.We are looking for someone detail-driven, systems-minded, deeply fluent in Deltek Costpoint, and comfortable operating at the intersection of GAAP, FAR, and DCAA requirements.Where You'll Make an ImpactOwn monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement supportDrive project accounting across labor distribution, indirect rate monitoring, revenue recognition, and contract setup in Deltek CostpointMaintain general ledger integrity and ensure accuracy of financial data across the businessReview employee timesheets and labor charging for compliance with company policy and government contracting requirementsLead account reconciliations and variance analysis tied to project and operational performanceSupport accounts payable, billing, cash management, and payroll accounting functionsServe as a key contributor on annual financial statement audits and DCAA and compliance reviewsPartner with program managers and operations leadership on financial reporting and project performance analysisIdentify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and Costpoint system optimizationHelp develop and document accounting policies, procedures, and internal controlsWhat It TakesB.S. in Accounting, Finance, or related field4 to 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in government contracting, aerospace, or defenseHands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint requiredStrong understanding of GAAP and government contracting regulations including FAR and CASAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting toolsUnanet, Power BI, or comparable ERP and reporting platforms a plusFamiliarity with timekeeping and compliance systems used in government contractingExcellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-moving environmentStrong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with operational and program teamsStrongly Preferred ExperienceCPA or active CPA candidateExperience supporting DCAA audits, indirect rate submissions, and government contract compliancePrior experience in a high-growth or startup environmentFamiliarity with project-based accounting and contract lifecycle managementWhy Quantum SpaceBuild the financial foundation behind spacecraft that actually fly, rapidly and repeatedlyOwn real authority across close, compliance, and project accounting, not just task executionWork with a team pushing the frontier of high-mobility space logisticsCompetitive compensation, equity, and top-tier benefits including medical, dental, vision, generous leave, HSA, 401(k) matching, and equity sharingLocation: Rockville, MDBase Salary: $110,000 to $130,000 depending on experienceExport Compliance Requirement To comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including ITAR, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.Apply now.
