DataStaff, Inc is seeking a Senior AWS Developer for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients located in Raleigh, NC * This position is hybridJob Description:Our client is seeking a senior AWS Developer with 10-15 years of software development experience. This role involves close collaboration with the data modernization teams at ITD and DPH to design, implement, and manage AWS solutions that align with their technical requirements and business objectives.Responsibilities:Collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose effective modernization strategiesProviding technical guidance and troubleshooting support throughout project deliveryActing as a trusted advisor to the technical team on industry trends and emerging technologiesDevelop, test, debug and deliver within timeline using best tools and best practices available.Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues and challenges.Designing and implementing complex, scalable, and secure AWS solutions tailored to customer needsIdentifies architectural risks and plans to mitigate risksEnsures adherence to standards and best practicesInfluences and communicates effectively with non-technical audiences including senior ITD and business stakeholders.Knowledge and Experience:Extensive experience in developing/ building AWS Data Lake formation, contributing extensively to design, development and writing code.Experience in modernizing legacy applications, which should include refactoring/migrating in-house legacy applications to the cloud environment.Proficient in utilizing AWS services and related components towards building enterprise level Data Lakes.Must have experience in Data Ingestion & Storage, Data Processing & Transformation and working with AWS Machine Language using appropriate AWS services.Experience in customizing AWS ETL logic using Python code.Knowledgeable and experience in security and data governance covering areas such as fine-grained permissions, managing user and service permissions, data encryption, auditing, and compliance.Experience in software development with hands-on skills in Python scripting, and any prior experience in Object oriented languages is a plus.Experience working with any transactional or RDMS databasesExperience with DevOps, DevSecOps, Iac, automation, building CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and logging.Knowledge / experience using any ETL tools, experience with data analytics using PowerBI or AWS QuickSight etc. is plus.Must have experience/familiar with Agile/Scrum Framework environments.Required Skills:7 Years - Proficient in using various AWS services towards building enterprise level data lakes7 Years - Experience in modernizing applications, including refactoring, migration, and cloud-native development.7 Years - Data Ingestion & storage: S3, Amazon Kinesis Data Streams, Amazon Kinesis Data Firehouse, DMS7 Years - Data Processing & Transformation: AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, EMR, Athena, Amazon Managed Service for Apache Flink, AWS Step Functions, AWS SageMaker7 Years - Experience with DevOps practices and automation tools10 Years - Experience in software development, hands on coding using python scripts or any other object-oriented languages like Java/.net.10 Years Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and stakeholders.7 Years - Experience with Agile/Scrum Framework environments.Desired Skills:3 Years - Experience with data analytics, business intelligence solutions (like Power BI or AWS QuickSight )AWS CertificationState Government experienceThis opportunity is available on a corp-to-corp basis or as a W2 position with a competitive benefits package.
