Financial Aid Advisor (Remote)

Job Description:The Financial Aid Advisor is responsible for advising and assisting students with all aspects of financing their education including establishing financial aid eligibility, clarifying policies, and providing accurate information on all financing options.Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Serves as the primary contact for students with financial aid related questions and needsCounsels incoming and current students on financial aid resourcesCollects information to verify financial aid eligibilityPackages financial aid for new and continuing studentsTracks received financial documents in student information systemProcesses and distributes financial aid awards letters Presents financial aid information on Admission and Interview daysCoordinates and presents information events on financial aid and money managementStays up to date on financial aid information by attending Financial Aid workshopsWorks closely with The Community Solution Education System Financial Aid Director and staff membersOther duties as assignedPosition Requirements:Knowledge of Title IV, Direct Loans program, and other financial aid regulationsFamiliarity with Campus VueStrong communication, customer service and problem solving skillsDetail orientedAbility to work independently and without close supervisionTechnical skills sufficient to use relevant software and websitesDesire to learnStrong teamwork skillsAbility to work with diverse populationsAbility to work evenings and weekends as necessaryPosition Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not mandatoryAbility to work evenings and weekends as necessary1-2 years of experience in Financial Aid or related Student Services areaPhysical Requirements: Ability to perform sedentary workAbility to operate office equipment including computer, printers, and phoneCompensation & BenefitsThis opportunity is budgeted at $26.27 - 28.21 base compensation.
