Volunteer: International Partner Strategy and Database for Stories that Travel

This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections.We are looking for a partnerships professional with international development, cultural exchange, or global arts experience to build an International Partner Strategy and Database. The volunteer will deliver a vetted database of 30 to 40 international partners (diaspora arts organizations, foreign film commissions, embassies and consulates, cultural institutes such as Goethe-Institut and Alliance Francaise, and international film festivals with US presence) across priority regions, with alignment notes, contact details, and an outreach playbook. Scope of work includes the following: 1. Identify priority regions based on our existing footprint (Indonesia/Bandung) and strategic interest (Africa, Latin America, South Asia, East Asia, Middle East, Eastern Europe) 2. Research 30 to 40 international partners across diaspora orgs, film commissions, embassies, cultural institutes, and international festivals 3. Map cultural exchange programs, fellowship opportunities, and international co-production frameworks 4. Capture program officers and cultural attaches 5. Draft 3 outreach templates calibrated to international relationship-building tone and protocol 6. Document a 12 month engagement calendar The ideal volunteer has experience in international cultural work, foreign service, diaspora organizing, global film festival circuits, or cross-border partnership development, and is excited about scaling stories across borders. This project should take 25 to 35 hours to complete. We are hopeful that our volunteer partner will share 2 to 5 hours of their time per week.We have an active international partnership with collaborators in Bandung, Indonesia, led by our team member Rhamzy. Our Founder and CEO travels frequently and can support international relationship-building. We have an annual impact report with travel and reach statistics, a Program Directory, and our Confluence wiki for documentation. Our 10 department Slack workspace includes capacity for international collaboration. The volunteer will work directly with our Founder and CEO and our Indonesia partnerships lead, with weekly 30 minute check ins. Our Programs and Outreach leads will provide context on diaspora communities and underrepresented voices we are working to amplify. Once complete, the database and 12 month engagement calendar become the operational backbone of Ineffable Films' international expansion, directly enabling new diaspora screenings, cultural exchange fellowships, and cross-border filmmaker mentorship through 2026 and 2027.We have an active international partnership with collaborators in Bandung, Indonesia, led by our team member Rhamzy. Mission: Ineffable Films is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young filmmakers from international lineages to tell the human journey of awakening in a world different from them, yet one they cannot abandon. We explore narratives that expose and celebrate the cultures, ethnicities, and communities of worlds both real and imagined. Our mission is to support these teenagers, especially those from BIPOC backgrounds, in telling their unique human journeys through the powerful medium of film. We operate primarily in the Greater Boston area, including Somerville, Cambridge, and Brookline, with aspirations to expand our reach and impact.
