We are inventors in our field, using powerful technologies to design a new class of innovative routers supporting the Internet of the Future. Join us and participate in this exciting journey towards the future of connectivity!You will work among engineers as a direct contributor, designing and operating our growing worldwide network infrastructure. You will collaborate multi-functionally with architects, developers, and vendors within Cisco throughout the product development life cycle, solving sophisticated problems along the way.Your ImpactYou will be designing the hardware for the Cisco 8000 series routers to deliver the best quality and best power efficiency using groundbreaking Serdes technology at the highest bit rates possible. Your responsibilities will span from hardware definition to design, and from qualification to final product release to our customers.Drive hardware product life cycle development including architecture, detailed design, bring up, debug, Hardware Qualification, Release to Manufacturing, sustaining support and field failure supportUse Cadence/Allegro to develop and collect schematicsGuide layout and routing phase of the designWrite hardware specs, develop test plans, bring up hardware with ASIC teamsDebug issues the lab using analyzers, scopesMinimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering and 7+ years of experience, or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering and 4+ years of experienceExperience with high speed design (for example Ethernet, PCIe, USB etc)Experience collaborating with one or more peer teams such as: Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Signal IntegrityExperience in Board Design using industry standard tools such as Concept, Allegro, or equivalent toolsExperience with lab bring up and hardware design validation of productsPreferred Qualifications: Experience writing hardware functional specificationsExperience with control interfaces such as PCIe, MDIO, SPI, I2CExperience designing systems with DDR4/DDR5 DIMMs and storage productsExperience with tackling signal integrity issues and board mounted power design and distribution techniquesExperience working with programmable devices such as FPGAs, CPLDPrior experience with shipping productsWhy Cisco? For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; andOnce performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.The applicable full salary ranges for this position, by specific state, are listed below:New York City Metro Area:$152,400.00 - $255,100.00Non-Metro New York state & Washington state:$134,300.00 - $224,800.00* For quota-based sales roles on Cisco's sales plan, the ranges provided in this posting include base pay and sales target incentive compensation combined.** Employees in Illinois, whether exempt or non-exempt, will participate in a unique time off program to meet local requirements.
