Position Summary As a Prep Cook at dnata Catering, you will play a vital role in our Inflight catering team, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of high-quality meals for airline clients. Your main responsibility is to assist in the preparation and organization of ingredients, ensuring they are ready for cooking and assembly. You will work in a fast-paced environment, following recipes and portion guidelines to measure and prepare ingredients such as vegetables, meats, and sauces, while maintaining strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards. You will also help store and rotate ingredients to ensure freshness and minimize waste, manage inventory, maintain a clean workspace, and collaborate with the culinary team to support the production of high-quality meals. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Cuts and portions different types of meat according to specifications Cuts and portions different types of cheese according to specifications Cuts and portions different types of fruits and vegetables according to specifications Read and follow dnata Catering recipes correctly and provide correct proportions Comply with all HACCP/GMP and dnata catering sanitation and proper food handling policies and procedures Other duties as assigned by management Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED preferred with 3+ years' experience in a high-volume food service. Valid food handler's certificate or equivalent A reliable, quality-conscious, safe worker Culinary knowledge of terms, procedures, and practices Flexibility to perform assigned tasks independently or as part of a team HACCP knowledge Excellent attention to detail and self-organized Ability to accurately monitor wastage Strong prioritization skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks Flexibility for different shifts – night, weekends, holidays Work Environment The essential functions of this position are performed indoors. The noise level in the work environment can range from minimal to loud. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel or crouch, and may lift or move up to 30 pounds.
