About the Role:Sunset Park Children's School Inc. is seeking a passionate and dedicated 3K Lead Teacher to join our vibrant community in Brooklyn, NY. In this role, you will create an engaging and nurturing learning environment for our youngest learners, fostering their curiosity and development.Responsibilities:Facilitate a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes exploration and learning.Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs.Collaborate with parents and guardians to support children's learning and development.Organize and participate in classroom activities, including arts, music, and outdoor play.Maintain a clean and organized classroom, ensuring materials are accessible and engaging.Work closely with fellow educators to foster a positive team atmosphere and share best practices.Stay current with early childhood education trends and incorporate innovative teaching strategies.About Us:We are a well established, culturally diverse Pre-School serving the Sunset Park, Brooklyn area for 40 years. We provide a warm, nurturing, safe learning environment for pre-school age children. Our curriculum and practice is centered upon the Creative Curriculum concepts fostering the physical, intellectual, social, and emotional needs of all our children. 3K Units of Study DOE CurriculumWe currently have an opening for a Full Time 3K Lead Teacher .Age Group: 3KHours: Monday through Friday 8am-4pm. Extended day as neededDOE Schedule during the School YearQualifications For Lead Teacher- MUST be Study Plan Eligible (Associate's degree in ECE or 90 college credits completed and currently enrolled toward Bachelor's degree)- Bachelor's degree in ECE preferred but NOT required.- NYS Certification in Early Childhood Education (B-2 or N-6) A Plus but NOT required.- Minimum of 1 year prior experience in a reputable child care setting.- Knowledge and implementation of the Creative Curriculum.-Familiarity with C.L.A.S.S., Teaching Strategies Online Assessment, and ECERSResponsibilities For Lead Teacher- Provide a safe, nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment that helps children learn and grow.- Develop engaging activities and lesson plans that foster the whole child concept and take each child's individual needs into consideration.- Supervise, Train and collaborate with Assistant Teachers regarding program development, planning and implementation.- Maintain Children's developmental profiles and health logs, attendance and meal count data.- Observe, collect, and record data for child assessments.- Maintain classroom environment in accordance with the Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scales.- Maintain healthy dialogue with Education Director regarding all things pertaining to the classroom, students, parents, general environment.- Attend team meetings, staff meetings, and educational workshops as necessary.* Punctuality and reliability are a must.*Excellent salary and benefits package for the right Lead Teacher:- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education with NYS Certification up to $68K (B-2 or N-6), Masters Certified up to $78K-Must Provide Valid Documentation of Study Plan Eligibility and Progress each Semester.- Paid DOE Vacation Weeks- Paid Holidays- Paid Benefits package including medical, Rx, vision and dental- 401K with Match- Profit Sharing Account
