Pre-K 3 Teacher

Description St. Mary School, in Milford, CT, is a Catholic elementary school has an opening for a full-time pre-K 3 teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. This position requires a dynamic teacher that can interact with and support the learning of 3-year-old students in our second-to-none Pre-K Program. Responsibilities would include creating an engaging learning environment that fosters academic and spiritual growth, develops pre-kindergarten students' skills and a love of learning. The candidate should be competent at instructing three-year-old students and ensuring their spiritual and academic growth. Additionally, the candidate must be able to: Develop and implement daily lesson plans that address spiritual, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.Use diverse instructional techniques such as modeling, observing, questioning, demonstrating, and reinforcing.Encourage children to develop self-help skills and independence.Adapt curriculum to meet individual learning needs and initiate referrals when necessary.Promote positive behavior through redirection, positive reinforcement, and adherence to the school's behavioral policies.Maintain positive communication with families through newsletters, daily updates, and as-needed outreach.Attend regular staff meetings and participate in annual reviews and professional development.Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.Assist students who may need additional support. Requirements Years of Successful Teaching: Minimum 3 Years as Classroom Aide/Paraprofessional in a Classroom or Daycare Setting (Early Childhood preferred) and/or completed coursework and field experience in a certification program. Bachelor's degree or CDA in Early Childhood Education required*.Minimum of 3 years of classroomexperience in early childhood education.Strong understanding of early childhood developmental stages.Demonstrated ability to create engaging, age-appropriate curriculum.Commitment to fostering a nurturing, inclusive, and faith-based environment. *If not currently certified, enrollment in a certification course is required.
