Senior Software Engineer

Full Stack Software Engineer (Backend Focus)Location: Glendale, CA (Onsite) Compensation: $160,000 – $190,000 base salary + benefitsAbout the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Software Engineer with a strong backend focus to help design, build, and scale modern distributed applications. In this role, you will work closely with product, infrastructure, and engineering teams to develop resilient backend services, scalable APIs, and event-driven systems that power critical business applications.The ideal candidate has deep backend engineering experience, strong systems thinking, and enjoys working across the stack when needed to deliver high-quality user and platform experiences.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIsBuild and optimize RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs used across internal and external platformsDevelop event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing systemsContribute to microservices architecture, distributed systems design, and service reliabilityCollaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other engineersWrite clean, maintainable, and testable code following engineering best practicesParticipate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical planningMonitor application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and improve system observabilitySupport CI/CD pipelines and modern cloud-native development practicesContribute to frontend development tasks as needed within a full stack environmentMust-Have Qualifications5–8+ years of experience in backend or full stack software engineeringStrong proficiency in Node.js, Python, or Go (or equivalent backend technologies)Experience building and maintaining RESTful and/or GraphQL APIsHands-on experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS, or similar)Solid understanding of microservices design patterns and distributed systemsExperience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or AzureStrong understanding of databases, caching strategies, and data modelingExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized environmentsFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practicesExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in collaborative environmentsRobert Half will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act.
