Come help be part of emerging small, unmanned aircraft technology!This position is responsible for development of embedded software and requires the ability to work closely with hardware engineers on developing software for embedded devices. This candidate should have experience implementing best practice methods and techniques for all phases of software development, documentation, and version control.Job DutiesDevelop flight software applications running on embedded linux platforms for unmanned aircraftCollaborate with hardware engineering to bring up new boards, integrate device drivers, and validate interfaces between software and electronics.Maintain board support package software for embedded linux platformsCreate reliable software solutions in compliance with internal and external requirementsPlan and execute software testing at the module, subsystem, and system levels using automated tools, simulation frameworks, and structured test proceduresSupport deployment, configuration, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance of software across a distributed fleet of embedded devicesSystem-level debugging and root cause analysis across hardware and softwareEXPERIENCE REQUIRED Applicant must have strong skills in the following:Proficiency developing embedded Linux applications in C/C++, with Python and Bash for tooling and test scriptingFamiliarity with concurrent, multi‑process design and service management using systemdPractical understanding of networking fundamentals and communication patterns, including TCP/UDP, IPC, and messaging frameworks such as ZeroMQHands‑on experience with Linux kernel internals, device drivers, and device‑tree configuration on custom boardsExperience developing on NVIDIA Jetson or similar embedded SoCs.Ability to bring up hardware interfaces and debug drivers for I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, USBLow‑level microcontroller development experience (STM32, PIC)Usage of tools such as oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, and low‑level instrumentationUnderstanding of electrical schematics and PCB layoutsExperience with Ardupilot is a strong plusJob Type: Full-timeBenefits401(k)Dental insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offRetirement planVision insurance8 hour shiftMonday to FridayA requirement of the position is US Person status (citizen of the United States or an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence).
