Sales Director

OverviewElement Materials Technology has an opportunity for a Divisional Sales Director, at our Warren, MI lab, who is responsible for the overall commercial performance of a group of clusters or sub-divisions within a Business Unit. They provide strategic leadership, coaching, and operational oversight to Sales Managers and/or Business Development Directors with line management responsibility.This role owns the revenue portfolio across their division, including new business generation, customer retention, share of wallet growth, and strategic account execution. Working closely with other senior leaders, they translate Element’s commercial strategy into regional execution, ensuring every cluster delivers against its revenue and customer goals.The Divisional Sales Director plays a key role in developing leadership capability, embedding commercial excellence, and driving alignment across sales, marketing, operations, and other enabling functions.ResponsibilitiesCommercial Strategy & ExecutionOwn revenue targets and customer growthDevelop Divisional Sales Plan aligned with BU goalsMonitor and act on commercial performanceLead divisional level forecasting, reporting & reviewsPartner with other functional colleagues to drive growthCapture and share market and customer insightsSupport integration of acquisitionsTeam Leadership, Coaching & Commercial ExcellenceDrive adoption of ComEx systems, processes & toolsLead, support, coach & develop team membersSet clear goals, expectations and standardsDrive use and data quality of CRM recordsLead and participate in training and coachingSupport succession planning, capability development and talent retentionSkills / QualificationsBachelor’s degree required; advanced business or leadership training is a plus5-10 years Sale experience, including managing multi-cluster or multi-region sales teamsProven track record of delivering sustainable revenue growth across diverse portfoliosDemonstrated ability to lead go-to-market planning, coverage models, pricing strategy, and budget ownershipExperienced in leading through influence and collaborationComfortable using commercial data platformsProven commercial leadership experienceExceptional people leadership skillsStrong commercial acumen; translating strategy to resultsConfident in managing complexity, ambiguity and competing prioritiesEffective collaboratorData drivenMust be willing to travel on as required (approximately 40-50%)Company OverviewElement is one of the fastest growing testing, inspection and certification businesses in the world.
