Kitchen Supervisor

Position SummaryOversee all kitchen employees, train and develop all new employees. Help kitchen staff when and where as needed. Report to the kitchen manager weekly Reports to: Restaurant Manager/Kitchen Manager Job TasksMaintain organization and cleanliness of kitchenEnsure that all food is being made to specificationEnsure spec books are up to dateEnsuring proper kitchen opening and closing duties are being followedMaking sure that all prep lists and, line checks are done dailyMaking sure that all walk-ins and storage areas are stocked properlyEnsuring proper inventory levels are in place for all food items. Communicating any concerns to the Kitchen ManagerMaking sure that all sanitation rules are followedPerform food preparation duties as neededBeing able to run the kitchen from the expo line when neededActing as the expo during the locations busiest timesCommunicating any needs to direct manager, Kitchen ManagerReporting any broken equipment to direct manager, Kitchen Manager Main Responsibilities, Required Skills, and KnowledgeCommunicationMust clearly communicate in a professional manner with coworkers and management. Must understand instructions, read written company memorandums and communicate when he or she needs more direction or training. Interpersonal RelationshipsMust adapt to different personalities of coworkers without losing focus. TeamworkWorking together as a team is a critical success factor of any restaurant. Establishing good working relationships is key to maintaining a team-oriented work environment. Performing General Physical ActivitiesMust perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions that require moderate strength including cleaning, climbing, lifting, walking, balancing and handling of materials. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Problem Solving and Conflict ManagementMust recognize a problem when it arises and be able to resolve it appropriately by using good judgement, tact and initiative according to company policy and procedure. Quality Control and Priority AssessmentMust evaluate current practices and processes; immediately recognize potential areas of conflict; and initiate ways to improve current business methods, quality of products and services providedFlexibilityOccasionally works overtime and assists with the workload of others if needed. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed. Analytical SkillsGeneral mathematical skills required along with point of sale application knowledge. Must use logic and reasoning to identify solutions and alternatives for successful outcome to problems.Time Management SkillsMust know and use methods and organizational techniques to manage workloads in a manner that promotes efficiency and respects the time of others.
