Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionB Positive is a blood plasma donation facility seeking an experienced LPN/Paramedic to join our growing team as we expand.Need to have availability Monday - Friday. Competitive Pay PLUS a $3,000 Sign-on Bonus.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (the following list is intended to be a guideline. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned):Selection of suitable plasmapheresis donors by performing physical examinations and taking medical histories on all donors, and through the use of FDA approved Standard Operating Procedure Manual (with particular detailed attention to communications related to AIDS information and plasmapheresis informed consent), current State and Federal guidelines, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, all internal company procedures and personal education and experienceTimely review of accumulated data to confirm established donor suitability, by reviewing and signing all SPE and RPR results and the related Donor Record File, documenting acceptance or rejection for the donor's continued participation in the programAssist with management and administration of donor counseling, testing, and follow-up of employee exposures to blood or plasmaProvide appropriate and confidential counseling to unacceptable donorsProvide appropriate level of care during unusual and moderate to severe donor reactionsAssist in employee training as necessaryConsult with Medical/Laboratory Director as required by company policiesAssist in other areas when needed, such as vitals, donor registration, lab processing, phlebotomy (if applicable)Report all unsafe situations or conditions to supervisorAvailable to travel up to 25 miles to other facility(ies) for training or assisting other center's staffing needsOther duties as assignedRequirementsEducation and Experience:Current nursing (LPN)/Paramedic license in good standing for state applying forCurrent CPR, BLS certificationHigh school diploma or equivalent, associates, bachelors degree, or above (must provide documentation)Required Skills/Abilities:Ability to read and write EnglishPhlebotomy experience a plusBasic proficiency in computer operations (Microsoft Word)Legible handwritingCustomer service skillsPunctual, reliable, and have reliable transportationPhysical Requirements:Read computer screens, procedure manuals and other documentsProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Hear doorbells, alarms, telephone, and other mechanical devicesWork confidently while being observed during frequent quality inspectionsWork in walk in - Subzero freezer(s)Ability to lift, pull, tug up to 50 pounds to stock supplies and/or move or support donorsRegularly required to use hands and fingers, to handle & feel objects, tools and controls; reach with hands and arms.Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.Required to stand for extended intervals, walk, climb and balance; stoop, kneel and crouch.Physical ability to operate equipment used on donor floor areas that may require repetitive motion and manual dexterity.Ability to read while standing or sitting in front of a computer for short periods of time.Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) required such as eyewear, lab coats, and glovesMust be able to operate accurately the following equipment:Computer (basic skills includes typing, following prompts on monitor, using mouse, saving information etc.)Hematastat IIRefractometerSafepetteSpot Vitals Signs monitor (Blood Pressure/Pulse & Thermometer)Memory Monitoring ThermometerRelative Humidity MonitorScaleStadiometerB Positive Plasma Offers:Competitive WagesFlexible schedulingPositive Work EnvironmentPaid training opportunitiesComprehensive Medical and Dental BenefitsPaid Time Off401(K)New/Recent graduates welcome
