Director of Accounting

Our client is a fashion company. They seek an Accounting Director to join their Brooklyn, NY office.ResponsibilitiesCreate, document, and implement internal accounting policies, workflows, and internal controls aligned with industry best practices, GAAP, and the financial structure of the companyManage and optimize the company's COGS structureEstablish and maintain departmental actuals versus budget tracking frameworksDirect the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP and IFRSPresent financial results and KPIs, and provide actionable recommendations for strategic decision-makingPerform regular gross margin reviews and identify risks and opportunities to improve profitabilityMaintain compliance with Federal, State, and Local tax requirementsPartner with the Head of Finance to guide finance-related ERP needs and support cross-functional teams in the implementation of systemsBuild reporting tools and automated workflowsSupervise AP, AR, inventory accounting, payroll, and day-to-day accounting operationsRequirements5+ years of accounting experiencePublic/private/combo experienceRetail, consumer products, wholesale, manufacturing, or related industry preferredStrong knowledge of technology and ERP implementationAbility to communicate and collaborate effectivelyDetail-oriented and highly analyticalCPA is a preferredJobID: 47775
