Job DescriptionGHG Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Quincy, Illinois.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: Med Surg / TelemetryDiscipline: RNStart Date: 06/08/2026Duration: 1 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, nightsEmployment Type: TravelEstimated Gross Weekly Pay: $2537.68\n\nOpportunity:\nUnit Med Surg/ TELE - Inpatient Surgical - 3rd floor\n\nJob Details:\n• Work 12-hour night shifts starting at 7:00 PM\n• Must have EPIC experience as facility is going through EPIC conversion in Q2 2026\n• Local clinicians accepted\n• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:4-6 nights, 1:5-6 with LPN support available\n• Primary care nursing model frequently used - must be comfortable with this approach\n• Virtual admission and discharge nurses available to assist\n• Work on 48-bed unit across two buildings\n• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS\n• Must have total joint experience and 1 year of surgical experience required\n• Must understand PCA pumps, reversal drugs (Narcan), sepsis management\n• Experience required with TPN/Lipids and narcotic usage\n• Required to titrate Heparin drips per protocol\n• Must be able to interpret telemetry strips (Draeger monitors)\n• Every other weekend requirement (Saturday and Sunday for both shifts)\n• Participate in holiday rotation with core staff\n• Float to like units only; if floated to higher acuity, work as help-all without patient assignment\n• No call or standby requirements\n• Black scrubs required\n• One 12-hour orientation shift on unit and shift of hire\n• Fast-paced environment with heavy patients, 8-12 surgery admissions per day plus discharges\n• Common patient types: neuro surgeries, joint replacements, ostomies, hernia repairs, sepsis, chronic pain management\n\nFacility:\nThis acute care facility operates as a Level 2 trauma center providing comprehensive surgical and medical services. The facility features a modern 48-bed medical-surgical and telemetry unit across two buildings, supporting a wide range of surgical specialties including orthopedics, neurosurgery, and general surgery.
