Board of Trustee Member-Finance/Accounting Expertise

It is the mission of Community Day Nursery to provide children with a safe, supportive, stimulating environment in which each child's potential for emotional, intellectual, social, and physical development is nurtured. Board of Trustees members assist in formulating agency goals and objectives, proactively identify and respond to the agency's needs, support agency policies and procedures, and serve as visionaries for educational opportunities for children. We look to build on over 120 years of quality daycare services and expand our presence in Essex County and New Jersey. Board of Trustees members operate in a voluntary capacity with responsibilities : Strategic Oversight: approve annual budgets, strategic plans, and review and measure outcomes; provide strategic leadership Financial Stewardship: oversee and monitor the organization's financial records Sustainability: actively participate in fundraising initiatives, assist in identifying board members, and contribute to the annual performance of the Executive Director Commitment: actively participate in and attend board meetings and take a proactive approach to the growth of the organization We are seeking to diversify the Board of Trustees with professionals who bring a range of skill sets to help us continue our legacy of success.
