The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, inclusive instruction aligned with the district curriculum and state standards while supporting the language development and academic achievement of multilingual learners (MLLs).In addition to core teaching responsibilities, this position includes a stipend-based assignment as the Multilingual Learner Paraeducator Coordinator, providing district-wide coordination and support for MLL paraeducator services.Core Responsibilities TESOL Teacher(Aligned with BOE-approved Teacher Job Description)Design and implement standards-based instruction that supports language acquisition and academic success for multilingual learnersDifferentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs using data-driven practicesCollaborate with classroom teachers to support Tier I instruction and ensure access to the curriculumMonitor student progress using formal and informal assessment dataCommunicate effectively with families, staff, and administratorsMaintain accurate records of student progress and required documentationParticipate in professional learning and collaborative team structuresAdditional Assignment: Multilingual Learner Paraeducator Coordinator (Stipended $4,000)The Regional TESOL Teacher will also serve as the Multilingual Learner Paraeducator Coordinator, with responsibilities including:Paraeducator Oversight and Scheduling:Develop and maintain a consistent, equitable schedule for the multilingual learner paraeducator across the six elementary schoolsMeet regularly with the paraeducator to provide coaching, guidance, and supportCoordinate communication among administrators, teachers, and the paraeducatorInstructional Support:Collaborate to align instructional materials and strategies for MLLsEnsure access to appropriate instructional resources and language supportsSupport ongoing adjustments to instructional practices based on student needsAssessment Coordination (LAS Links):Coordinate assessment logistics, scheduling, and administration in collaboration with the regional ELACEnsure compliance with all state testing protocols and timelinesOversee data collection and submissionData & Instructional Planning:Analyze language proficiency and other student dataSupport instructional planning and Tier I supportsProvide recommendations based on student performance trendsQualificationsConnecticut Teaching Certification with TESOL endorsement requiredBilingual, World Language, or related endorsement preferredExperience working with multilingual learnersStrong collaboration, communication, and organizational skillsKnowledge of language proficiency assessments (e.g., LAS Links) preferredCompensation* Salary Range: $55,087 $118,640 (in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement)* Additional Stipend: $4,000 for Multilingual Learner Paraeducator Coordinator assignmentWork Schedule: School-year position in accordance with the teacher contractApplication/Interview Procedure:Apply online; click JobID: 1780Applicants will be screened on an ongoing basis; early applications are encouraged.Interviews with a possible call back.For more information, please get in touch with Dr. Jeanine Rose, Asst.
