We're searching for a Control Systems Software Engineer to join Aurora's Autonomy Controls Software Team. The team is responsible for designing, implementing, integrating, and verifying the motion control system of the Aurora Driver with all vehicle platforms.ResponsibilitiesDevelop motion control algorithms for a safety-critical systemAnalyze control system performance in both offline and on-road execution environmentsVerify robustness of system to disturbances, failure modes, and environmental conditionsRequired QualificationsExperience building production-quality C++ code8+ years of experience working on control systems for vehicle platforms in automotive, aerospace, robotics, or related fieldsExperience in control system design with a solid foundation in control theoryExperience analyzing/simulating nonlinear vehicle dynamicsKnowledge of state estimation and signal processing techniquesDesirable QualificationsFamiliarity with design of fail-safe/fail-operational control systemsExperience in verifying design of safety-critical and/or autonomous systemsMasters or PhD in related fieldCompensation and BenefitsThe base salary range for this position is $146K - $211.5K per year. Aurora's pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
