TAIT’s 20 global offices have developed iconic productions and experiences in over 30 countries, all seven continents, and even outer space for renowned performers, theme parks, exhibits, and venues across the globe, including partnerships with Taylor Swift, Cirque Du Soleil, Royal Opera House, Nike, NASA, Bloomberg, Google, Beyoncé, and The OlympicsPosition PurposeThe Project Finance Business Partner acts as a trusted financial advisor and independent reviewer to Producing, Production, and Operations teams across service-based and production-led projects.This role is responsible for validating the integrity of project financials, including forecasts, margins, and risks, ensuring leadership has a clear and unbiased view of performance across dynamic, client-driven environments.Operating alongside project teams, but independent from delivery pressures, the role strengthens financial discipline, improves forecast reliability, and ensures consistent application of commercial and accounting principles across complex, evolving project scopes.Essential Responsibilities / AccountabilitiesProject Financial Assurance & ValidationIndependently review and validate project financial forecasts, including contract value, revenue, cost-to-complete, and margin assumptionsChallenge underlying assumptions, ensuring alignment with contract terms, scope, delivery plans, and vendor commitmentsIdentify financial risks, gaps, and inconsistencies, escalating issues early and clearlyEnsure forecasts reflect the realities of dynamic, change-driven project environmentsBusiness Partnering with Producing & Production TeamsAct as the primary finance partner to Producers and project teams from project award through closeoutProvide clear financial insight to support decision-making on scope, delivery, and commercial trade-offsSupport teams in understanding the financial implications of scope changes, client negotiations, and execution risksBalance strong partnership with objective, independent financial challengeCommercial, Contract & Accounting OversightReview contracts and change orders to ensure alignment between commercial terms and financial projectionsEnsure consistent and compliant application of agent vs. principal accounting, particularly in vendor-driven and service-based delivery modelsValidate inputs into revenue recognition, cost treatment, and forecast updates in collaboration with Project AccountingMonitor actual performance vs forecast and investigate material variancesGovernance, Controls & TransparencyAct as a second line of defense over project financial integrity, independent of delivery pressuresDrive consistency in forecasting methodologies, assumptions, and documentation standardsImprove visibility and transparency of project financial performance and risksSupport internal and external audit requirements related to project financialsCross-Functional CollaborationPartner closely with Project Accounting, FP&A, and Operations to ensure alignment between forecasts, actuals, and reportingServe as the key finance interface for Producing and Production teamsTranslate finance policies into practical guidance for project teams, ensuring smooth and compliant executionContribute to continuous improvement of financial tools, templates, and forecasting processes.Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.Behavioral CompetenciesConstructive Challenge: Confidently questions assumptions while maintaining strong relationshipsCommercial Acumen: Deep understanding of contracts, margins, and project economicsAnalytical Rigor: Ability to dissect complex financials and identify key driversJudgment & Independence: Maintains objectivity under pressureCommunication & Influence: Clearly conveys financial insights to non-financial stakeholdersIntegrity: Upholds financial discipline and transparencyChange Leadership: Guides teams through evolving processes and requirementsManage Complexity: Effectively handles multiple projects in fast-paced, dynamic environmentsMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field8+ years’ experience in project-based, production, agency, or complex service environmentsExperience in project finance, commercial finance, project accounting, or project controlsProven experience conducting site visits and project valuations (e.g., percent complete, earned value, cost-to-complete).Strong understanding of:Contract structures and commercial termsCost forecasting, margin management, and financial riskExperience working in dynamic, change-driven project environmentsKnowledge of revenue recognition and agent vs. principal considerationsAdvanced Excel skills and experience with ERP / project costing systemsProven ability to work independently and confidently challenge financial assumptionsAdvanced Excel skills;
