Senior Manager Human Resources Operations
SciPro is currently engaged with a global biotechnology company seeking a Manager or Senior Manager, HR to partner closely with the HR Director to execute and enhance the company’s human resources strategy. This role will be the right-hand person to the Director and will assist in supporting the full employee lifecycle, ensuring operational excellence, and contributing to building a high-performing, engaged, and compliant workforce. The HR Manager will serve as a trusted resource for managers and employees, fostering a positive workplace culture and supporting strategic HR initiatives.Must Haves - Location - near Westlake Village, CA - will be hybrid 2 days onsiteBackground - biotech/pharma/med device/nanotechnology/laboratory background neededKey ResponsibilitiesAct as a strategic advisor to leadership on employee relations, workplace concerns, and performance-related issues.Provide guidance to managers in handling sensitive employee matters while ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.Drive performance management initiatives by educating leaders on best practices, supporting them through employee situations, and continuously enhancing internal performance management frameworks and processes.Lead and support employee development efforts through training initiatives, mentorship, and coaching to foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment aligned with organizational values.Develop and execute initiatives that strengthen company culture, increase employee engagement, enhance internal communication, and support retention through a positive employee experience.Create, update, and maintain HR policies, employee handbooks, and compliance procedures to ensure alignment with changing employment regulations and business needs.Manage the accuracy and maintenance of HR data across internal systems while generating reports and workforce analytics to support operational and strategic decision-making.Own the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring an efficient and engaging candidate journey while building diverse sourcing strategies to attract top talent. Cultivate strong partnerships with hiring managers and external recruiting resources.Review market trends related to compensation, benefits, and equity programs, and provide recommendations for enhancements that support competitiveness within the industry.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, along with 8+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical sector.Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, evolving environment with a start-up mentality, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining accountability and meeting deadlines.Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations across multiple states and at the federal level. Professional HR certifications such as SPHR, PHRca, or CCP are considered advantageous.Experience leading, coaching, and developing HR professionals and contributing to team growth and effectiveness.Analytical and solutions-oriented mindset with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HRIS platforms.Strong communication and relationship-building abilities with the professionalism and judgment needed to work effectively with senior leadership in high-pressure or ambiguous situations.Capable of influencing decisions, navigating complex situations thoughtfully, and communicating with clarity and confidence.
