Job Title: Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist (Healthcare Billing & Claims)Location: RemoteSalary Range: $1,600 – $2,200 USD/monthSchedule: Monday – Friday | 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM (CST/EST)Independent Contractor PositionAbout the Role:We are hiring a Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage healthcare claims follow-up, denial resolution, insurance billing workflows, and patient account balances for a large U.S.-based dermatology practice.This role is focused on maintaining clean receivables, resolving denied or aging claims, and ensuring accurate insurance and patient billing operations. You will work closely with billing teams, payers, and clinical staff to improve claim resolution timelines and maintain billing accuracy.The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with medical billing, insurance follow-up, denial management, and EHR systems in a high-volume healthcare environment.What You’ll Own:Submit and manage insurance claims accurately and on timeFollow up on unpaid, denied, or aging claims with insurance carriersResearch denial causes and resubmit corrected claims when neededManage self-pay billing and outstanding patient balancesMaintain accurate billing documentation within EHR and billing systemsIdentify recurring denial patterns and escalate operational issues appropriatelyProcess account write-offs and billing adjustments when necessaryCoordinate with billing support teams and clinical staff regarding account inquiriesMaintain productivity and accuracy standards across AR workflowsWhat We’re Looking For:2+ years of experience in medical accounts receivable, medical billing, or healthcare claims managementExperience working with medical billing software and EHR systemsStrong understanding of insurance claims, denials, appeals, and payer workflowsFamiliarity with medical billing guidelines and reimbursement processesExcellent attention to detail and problem-solving skillsStrong written and verbal English communicationAbility to manage multiple priorities independently in a remote environmentStrong organizational and follow-through skillsNice-to-Haves:Experience with healthcare clearinghouses and EDI transactionsExperience identifying billing process improvementsExperience collaborating remotely with U.S.-based healthcare teams
