Our client in NM is seeking a skilled General Surgeon for a 6-day assignment starting Apr 3, 2026. This role involves general surgery call coverage for emergency department, trauma cases, and inpatient surgical needs at a Trauma facility, with shifts beginning at 7 AM. The Physician will handle a variety of procedures for adult and pediatric patients, ensuring critical surgical support without outpatient clinic duties. Responsibilities and Duties Provide general surgery call coverage for emergency department, trauma cases, and inpatient surgical needs at a Trauma Certified facility. Manage general surgical procedures for adult, pediatric, and trauma patients. Perform required procedures including Laparoscopic Surgery (Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Hernioplasty), Chest wall/pleural procedures, GI endoscopy (Upper, Lower, Sigmoidoscopy, Colonoscopy), Chest tube insertion, Central line insertion, PA Catheter placement, and Vascular access devices. Execute preferred procedures such as Head/neck surgery, Breast surgery, Liver surgery, Ventilation management, Arterial bypass, Peripheral, and AV shunt. Undertake additional pediatric surgery procedures for Intestinal Artesias, Biliary Artesias, Abdominal wall defects, Umbilical defects/Hernia, Diaphragmatic hernia, Imperforate anus, and PDA ligation. No outpatient clinic duties are required for this assignment.
