Client Partner - Cloud Data Platforms & AI
About the RoleWaterloo Data is seeking a Client Partner to lead enterprise data platform and AI engagements for clients in regulated industries. In this role, you will serve as the primary client relationship owner while providing hands-on technical leadership across data, cloud, application development, and AI workstreams.You will work directly with senior business and technology stakeholders to define platform strategy, establish engineering standards, and oversee delivery from architecture through production. This is a client-facing leadership role that also requires strong technical contribution.Responsibilities- Serve as the trusted advisor and primary point of contact for client executives, enterprise architects, and engineering teams- Define and execute platform strategy across Azure, Snowflake, and related cloud and data technologies- Design and implement production Snowflake architectures, data pipelines, and cloud-native services- Establish engineering standards including CI/CD pipelines, GitHub workflows, environment strategy, and RBAC models- Lead architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical governance across delivery teams- Mentor client engineers and help build internal platform capabilities- Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet enterprise requirements- Translate business objectives into actionable technical roadmaps and delivery plansRequired Qualifications- 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering, data engineering, or cloud platform delivery- 4+ years in a senior consulting role with direct client relationship responsibility- Production Snowflake implementation experience- Strong Python development skills- Experience building enterprise solutions on Microsoft Azure- Experience integrating on-premises infrastructure with cloud services- Proficiency with GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and RBAC design- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with executive and technical audiencesPreferred Qualifications- Experience in electric utility, energy, or other regulated industries- Snowflake administration and performance optimization- Informatica EDC / CDGC or comparable data governance and catalog tooling- FastAPI development experience- Azure AI Services or Azure OpenAI- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, or similar)- Enterprise integration and API design- DataOps, DevSecOps, or Agile delivery methodologiesAbout Waterloo DataWaterloo Data is an Austin-based consulting firm specializing in modern data platforms, cloud engineering, application development, and AI.
