CNC Programmer (Direct Hire) Competitive Engineered Seals Manufacturer Our manufacturing client's facility in the Greater Columbia, SC, market has tremendous stability and unique manufacturing processes. A leader in performance-demanding applications ranging from engineered seals, components and pressure valves, they serve nuclear, industrial and oil/gas industries, to name a few. There are 12+ sites under this subsidiary, but roughly 90 employees and 25+ million in sales is produced from the Greater Columbia, SC, facility. Your Role With The Company Sets up and operate a variety of machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, and layout and machining procedures. This individual will also use his/her machining expertise to support multiple departments as necessary. Create and modify part programs for all CNC machining equipment using offline software and machine control panel. Sets up and operates all equipment in house when needed; including but not limited to CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, conventional mills & conventional lathes. Selects correct cutting tool geometry and materials. Calculates ideal cutting speeds and feeds for all operations, materials, and surface finishes. Adjust tool offsets to produce acceptable parts. Troubleshoots and corrects undesirable part conditions including surface finishes, taper, tolerances, etc. Assists in the designing of machining fixtures to improve productivity. Identifies areas of improvement for fixturing, tool paths, tooling, etc. and implement action plans. Uses precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, comparator, CMM, and visual and laser inspection equipment. Assists in the training of current employees. Assists in the estimating process when needed. Aids other employees in determining sequential machining operations and troubleshooting problems. Adheres to all safety procedures and guidelines. Accurately documents time and correctly documents all job activity. Adheres to ISO inspection processes. Your Background High School Diploma or GED /Trade or Technical Certification. 5+ years' experience. Extensive knowledge of G-Code, conversational and other programming languages. Demonstrated experience in CAD Cam packages. Excellent blueprint reading and use of measuring devices such as micrometer, caliper, and height gauge. Ability to independently set up machinery, fixturing, select tooling, and measuring equipment to validate compliance. Ability to operate CNC equipment and make adjustments as needed. Capacity to evaluate information to determine compliance with standards. Basic ability to operate computers.
