You'll architect cutting-edge Microsoft-based solutions, modernize infrastructure, and guide our Customer Success and IT Support Desk team to deliver stellar service.ContributionsWhat You'll DoDesign & Deliver: Lead architecture, design, and implementation of Microsoft-centric solutions across internal and external environments.Be the Expert: Act as the go-to resource for all things Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra, Exchange Online, Intune, and Microsoft Defender.Automate the Mundane: Streamline operations through PowerShell, Azure Automation, Logic Apps, and Azure Functions.Elevate Support: Manage, mentor, and support the IT Support Desk and Customer Success teams to ensure a frictionless user experience.Secure & Scale: Apply deep knowledge of endpoint security, conditional access, and infrastructure best practices to ensure reliability, security, and scalability.Lead Projects: Drive engineering projects end-to-end—from discovery to deployment—while collaborating closely with business and technical stakeholders.Innovate Constantly: Evaluate and integrate new technologies to keep our IT stack fresh, effective, and aligned with business goals.Be the Voice of IT: Interface with leadership, users, and partners to champion IT strategy and communicate technical concepts clearly.QualificationsMust-HavesBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field3 days/week in McLean office and flexible as needed. 7+ years in senior IT engineering roles with deep expertise in Microsoft environmentsExperience integrating SaaS software into a Microsoft environmentAdvanced experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Enterprise AppsStrong expertise in Endpoint Management (Intune/MEM) and Microsoft Defender SuiteProficient with automation tools: PowerShell scripting, Azure Logic Apps, Azure FunctionsSolid grasp of conditional access policies, identity management, and modern security principles8+ years total experience in systems administration, cybersecurity, or systems engineeringProven track record leading complex IT projects through full lifecycleExcellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and team collaboration skillsBonus Points For:3+ years managing or mentoring support/help desk teamsCertifications in Microsoft/Azure/Google platformsExperience with Tesira Biamp, Crestron, NEAT, or other Audio/Visual SystemsExperience implementing IT controls in accordance with NIST, ISO, and CMMC standardsExperience in multi-cloud environments and system migrationsFamiliarity with federal compliance and high-availability infrastructurePassion for delivering extraordinary user experiencesAbout steampunkSteampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $135,000 to $175,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
