Outside Plant Engineer

We are 100% Hudson Valley.The Outside Plant Engineer will support and perform day-to-day activities related to OSP engineering and administration of outside plant facilities and infrastructure.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for planning, designing, updating and maintaining OSP databases, recording additions and removals, forecasting construction requirements.Plan and prepare OSP project information to determine equipment requirements, best routing of OSP Plant, provide estimates for outside plant construction budget.Design and prepare detailed work plans for construction or rearrangement of existing copper and fiber optic cable, aerial, underground lines to include splicing designs and documentation.Conduct field surveys as required.Obtain right of ways, road permits, and other requirements associated with the use of public and private property.Coordinate planning of joint construction projects with other utilities, cable TV companies, state and local DOT.Maintain staking, CATV, JUA and AML’s and engineering records to provide Accounting, Finance and Regulatory information for reporting.Must adhere to all safety rules and regulations as outlined in Safety Manual and Company policies.Must be available to attend schools and seminars for training.Must be able to operate computer terminal for extended period of time.Other duties may be assigned.REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Knowledge of outside plant construction procedures and transmission requirementsKnowledge of other utilities and related utilities infrastructure.Knowledge of FTTx and PON designs, including both centralized and distributed splits and splicing architectures.Individual must be willing to pursue education to maintain proficiency in all areas of responsibilityKnowledge of database software, design software, project management software and word processing softwareMust be available to work overtime as required, be able to travel for conferences, seminars, and other off-site functions and must adhere to Company policies and procedures.COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Salary: $101,395 per yearFree Archtop fiber Internet service — where available #fastAFHeavily subsidized medical, dental & visionHolidays, PTO & flexible work schedules401(k) retirement planEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Life, short & long-term disability insuranceEmployee Referral ProgramEmployee discount programsWHY ARCHTOP?Local, community-driven companyPurpose-built fiber networkCollaborative, no-ego cultureVisible impact in the Hudson ValleyShape how we grow and sell
