The Field Survey Technician works with various members of the surveying project team to deliver on time and accurate survey projects. Positions such as Sr. Survey Technician, Engineering Tech - CAD and Project Surveyor may be in your future.QualificationsEssential FunctionsOperates and utilizes all survey equipment - GPS and conventional in the performance of boundary, ALTA, topographic and engineering surveysWorks from notes, sketches, maps, and other materials to complete survey tasks with supervisionCommunicates with the Project Surveyor or Project Manager before, during and after completion of field work to properly relay information on field conditions on-siteResponsible for clear, informative, and accurate field notesWorks cooperatively with multiple crewsTakes responsibility for the maintenance, repair, and welfare of all equipment in the field, including the work vehicleBrings field shots into CAD to process codes and line work prior to delivery to the survey drafting technicianThis position is regularly scheduled for 40 hours per week and will have overtime as neededPosition RequirementsExperience 0+ years survey crew experience Demonstrated interest in continuing education (ex. CST)A valid drivers license must be maintained and insurable Physical working requirements:Ability to do occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.Able to walk up/down stairsAbility to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekendsSubject to outside environmental conditions occasionallySkillsMust develop proficiency with data collectors and total stations (conventional and robotic)Must understand algebra, trigonometry, and geometryEducationA high school diploma or equivalent requiredGeospatial industry degree a plus
