This role is also responsible for new equipment installation/tear-downs, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and finding ways to improve processes, PM’s, and equipment. Partners with production staff to ensure that production is being serviced properly and in a timely manner to minimize downtime.Dress Code/ Protective GearAll Technicians must wear safety glasses and steel-toed shoes, PPE must be adorn if/when handling glass as prescribed by the department where the task is taking place. Additional clothing and/or PPE may be required depending upon the job task being completed (i.e. welding). Full work attire is provided for this position.Essential FunctionsPerform preventive maintenance on various equipment.Respond to calls in a timely manner while simultaneously prioritizing most important to least important.Work on projects with fellow technicians and individually, as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance ManagerUse the ‘Maintenance Support’ website to complete the work orders posted/assigned.Seek ways to improve processes, PMs, and equipment.Clean tools and work area after completing tasks.Help maintain parts inventory by partnering and communicating with the Maintenance Purchaser to let them know when parts inventory is low or depleted.Partner with Production Managers, Production Supervisors, and other Team Members to schedule work being performed on equipment, with minimal down-time.Assist with new equipment installation/tear-downs.Troubleshoot machineryPerform facilities maintenance in office areas, bathrooms, and common areas, as needed.Works with outside contractors as needed.Follow all safety protocol and partner with safety personnel to ensure that all machinery is properly guarded and lock out tag out procedures are followed.Dispose of oils, lubricants, grease, and cleaning agents according to safety and environmental standards.Additional ResponsibilitiesAccept more challenging assignments as experience and knowledge allowsTrain others to help them gain knowledge in your strength areas as neededAll other duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsAbility to operate hand and power toolsSelf-directed/self-managedExcellent ability to partner with production and others across all departments and levelsPositive attitude that aligns with Cardinal LG Amery's leadership philosophy of cultivating a positive work environmentPreferred QualificationsMinimum 2 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing capacityAbility to interpret schematicsBasic electrical troubleshooting and repair skillsPlumbing knowledgeWelding and/or machining experienceAssociates degree/technical degree in industrial maintenance or similarPLC knowledgeExperience with programming/installing frequency drivesHVAC experienceCertified ElectricianPhysical ElementsConstant standing and walkingFrequent bending and reachingFrequent lifting, carrying and/or pushing objects weighing 20 pounds or moreFrequent kneeling and balancingFrequent climbing and kneelingOral and written communicationAbility to see within normal parameters and hear within normal rangeOccasionally - Occupation requires this activity up to 33% of the time (0 - 2.5+ hrs/day)Frequently - Occupation requires this activity from 33% - 66% of the time (2.5 - 5.5+ hrs/day)Constantly - Occupation requires this activity more than 66% of the time (5.5+ hrs/day)Mental Performing ElementsAbility to build relationshipsAbility to analyze, interpret and calculate dataProblem solvingCommunicating with various audiencesCreating written communicationAbility to read and comprehendAbility to train others as requiredEnvironmental ConditionsThis position exists in an indoor manufacturing facility. There is regular exposure to loud noises, fumes, odors, and dusts.Comments: Working around the ovens can be very hot and extremely cold when working outside during winter.
