Embedded Linux Firmware Engineer

Role SummaryWe are looking for an Embedded Linux Firmware Engineer to support the development of next-generation embedded computing platforms used in high-performance edge and AI-driven environments. The ideal candidate will work on low-level software components including Linux kernel modules, firmware, bootloaders, BIOS/UEFI, and Board Support Packages (BSP), enabling reliable hardware initialization and operating system integration across multiple processor architectures.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, port, and maintain Linux device drivers and kernel modules.Configure and optimize Linux kernel components for embedded hardware platforms.Support GMSL3 driver integration and related software utilities.Customize BIOS/UEFI and bootloader components to meet platform requirements.Develop and maintain Board Support Packages (BSP) for embedded x86 and ARM-based systems.Perform board bring-up, hardware validation, and platform debugging during product development.Configure kernel, device tree, and boot process for new hardware platforms.Support Linux operating system integration on custom embedded devices.Troubleshoot low-level hardware and firmware issues using debugging tools and interfaces.Collaborate with hardware, software, and platform engineering teams to ensure smooth system integration.Prepare technical documentation covering firmware configuration, BSP implementation, and board bring-up procedures.Participate in firmware validation and support release activities.Required QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.3+ years of experience in Embedded Linux development.Strong experience in Linux kernel module programming and device driver development.Proficiency in C/C++ programming.Solid understanding of Linux boot sequence, kernel initialization, and embedded system architecture.Experience developing or maintaining Board Support Packages (BSP).Hands-on experience with board bring-up and hardware debugging.Familiarity with BIOS/UEFI customization and bootloader concepts.Experience working with storage interfaces such as eMMC, NVMe, SATA, or SD cards.Knowledge of hardware debugging tools including JTAG, serial console, and oscilloscopes.Preferred SkillsExperience working with NVIDIA Jetson platforms.Familiarity with GMSL3 protocol and driver integration.Understanding of firmware security concepts including Secure Boot and TPM.Exposure to heterogeneous computing platforms and embedded SoCs.Experience with CI/CD pipelines for embedded software or firmware development.Knowledge of cloud-edge or embedded infrastructure platforms is an advantage.Technical SkillsEmbedded LinuxLinux Kernel ProgrammingLinux Device Driver DevelopmentKernel Module DevelopmentBSP DevelopmentBIOS/UEFIBootloader DevelopmentC/C++Board Bring-upHardware DebuggingGMSL3NVIDIA Jetson (Preferred)JTAGSerial ConsoleDevice TreeEmbedded Storage (eMMC, NVMe, SATA, SD)
