NAVAIR - Software Developer Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented candidate with extensive knowledge of computer or software engineering, and an interest in shaping acquisition efforts and documentation. Ideal candidates will have thorough knowledge and experience working with avionics systems, components, and software. This position is located at NAVAIR Station Pax River in St. Mary's County, MD and requires daily on-site presence.Clearance: An Interim ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance. Requirements: Must have at least two years of experience in the following:Performing and managing software engineering and development effortsWorking with software requirements, design, process management, open architecture principles, integration, and testDeveloping software systems designs, tests (including interoperability), and plansCommunicating effectively with software program leaders, engineers/developers, and stakeholders Responsibilities: Interface with Naval Air Station Patuxent River headquarters, contractor personnel, and other government activities for the programReview data, reports, studies, designs, design documentation, tests, and equipment to determine conformance with contract technical requirementsConduct technical reviews to determine acceptability of changes to contract required services or equipmentDetermine the usability of items that do no meet contract requirementsOversee direction, management, and coordination of technical effortsAdvise on technical issuesMonitor research, analysis, design, development, test, and manufacturing operationsProvide real-time access to subject matter experts for problem assessment and resolutionProvide technical oversight into the Program Increment (PI) priority workloadsReview and provide technical inputs on proposed changes to processes and software development plansFunction as a member of an integrated teamApply risk management, configuration management, data management, trade-off analysis, technical performance measurement, technical reviews, modeling and simulation, and earned value management techniques in support of different segments of technical programs/projects Preferred Skills and Experience: Knowledge of military avionics systems, components, and software design attributesKnowledge of weapon system and avionics systems engineering procedures, processes, practices, and toolsKnowledge of DoD software acquisition processesDAWIA certificationsEducation: BS in a technical field (Computer Science, Data Science, or Operations Research preferred) Compensation: Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements. The projected annual compensation range for this position is $79,000 - $120,000 (USD).
