The company has a long operating history, a stable workforce, and a culture where leadership is very involved in day-to-day financial and operational oversight.The role reports directly to the CEO/President, who previously served as CFO and continues to carry significant finance responsibilities. The intent of this hire is to bring in a strong accounting leader who can take full ownership of the accounting function and provide meaningful operational relief at the executive level.This individual will oversee a small but strong accounting team, including an Accounting Manager and Finance Manager. Both are highly capable professionals who provide solid day-to-day support, allowing the incoming leader to focus on oversight, process improvement, and executive-level financial leadership.What the role involves:Ownership of month-end, quarter-end, and annual closeGAAP and statutory financial reportingNAIC statutory filings and insurance regulatory compliancePremium accounting, claims accounting, and reinsurance settlementsTreasury and cash management functionsClose partnership with underwriting and claims teamsDirect exposure to external auditors and regulatorsFull responsibility for accounting operations in a lean environmentIdeal background:Active CPA requiredPrior Controller or Assistant Controller experienceStrong Property & Casualty insurance background strongly preferredStatutory accounting and NAIC reporting experience highly valuedExposure to claims, underwriting, and reinsurance accounting is a plusProven leadership over accounting teams or functionsStable career progression and strong attention to detailAdditional context:Fully onsite role (5 days/week in office) in AtlantaHighly detail-oriented leadership team with a strong preference for polished, well-structured candidatesInterview process is in-person and relationship-drivenWe’re prioritizing stable, polished accounting leaders in the insurance space who are comfortable operating in a hands-on, lean environment with direct executive exposure.If this aligns with your background or someone in your network, feel free to connect directly.
