Patient Account Customer Service Representative - Remote

About the Opportunity:The Patient Account Customer Service Representative plays a crucial role in the Revenue Cycle team by serving as the primary contact for patients regarding their accounts. This remote position focuses on assisting patients with billing inquiries, payment arrangements, refunds, and account resolution, thereby supporting the organization''s financial health and enhancing patient service experience.3. Responsibilities:• Answer incoming patient calls professionally and provide accurate billing information• Return voicemail messages and initiate calls to resolve account discrepancies and balances• Verify patient account details for accuracy before billing• Process patient payments securely and in compliance with policies• Manage self-pay credit balances and initiate patient refunds as necessary• Follow up on outstanding patient accounts receivable and process bad debt• Maintain detailed records of patient interactions and account activities• Assist with additional duties as assigned• Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures4. Requirements:• High School diploma or GED• 1-2 years of experience in a medical office, healthcare billing, or revenue cycle environment required• Preferred experience handling high call volumes in customer service• Familiarity with Nextgen and SIS Billing Systems is a plus• Knowledge of insurance billing, patient balances, and account reconciliation preferred• Strong customer service and communication skills• Ability to work independently, follow detailed instructions, and maintain accuracy• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook• Understanding of HIPAA and confidentiality requirements• Resourcefulness and adaptability in problem-solving• Self-motivated with capacity to meet standards with minimal supervision5.
