Higginsville Habilitation Center (HHC) is recruiting for a Support Care Professional – DBT Trainer to be a part of a highly effective team that supports over 200 employees, that makes a difference in the lives of adults with developmental disabilities. HHC is a state-operated program within the Department of Mental Health and supports 40+ individuals receiving 24/7 services.The Support Care Professional must be detail-oriented, work well with others, have good time management skills, possess leadership skills, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be proficient with Microsoft Excel and other computer programs and be willing to occasionally travel.ResponsibilitiesThe Life Skills Support Care Professional is an essential member of the HOPE/crisis team. The Life Skills SCP is responsible for leading individual and group sessions for individuals served in HOPE and HHC’s campus to help build skills needed for community living. Skills may include Dialectical Behavior Therapy, personal growth, and/or communication. The Life Skills SCP will work with the interdisciplinary team to provide supports needed to the specific individuals at HOPE and on campus.Preferred Qualifications2+ years of crisis/behavior support experienceBachelor’s DegreeRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GEDFour or more years of I/DD experience Lack of post‐secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.Salary$52,567.68 annually/$2,190.32 per pay periodSchedule8:00 am to 4:30 pm with Saturday and Sunday as days off, with flexibility to accommodate DBT facilitation.
