Litigation Attorney Remote | Long Island Our client, a well‑established, multi‑state law firm with a strong New York litigation presence, has engaged us to recruit an experienced Litigation Associate to join its New York foreclosure litigation team. This role is ideal for a self‑directed litigator who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, understands New York court procedures, and wants ownership over their files without micromanagement. Once fully ramped up, this attorney will manage a portfolio of files (up to ~150) and be responsible for all litigation activity that arises outside the standard foreclosure process. Matters may include:Motions to dismissResponses to counterclaimsAppeals and post‑judgment issuesOther contested foreclosure‑related litigation Key ResponsibilitiesManage litigation matters from initiation through resolutionDraft and respond to pleadings, motions, and litigation filingsHandle contested foreclosure matters requiring advanced litigation strategyTrack and meet all New York–specific deadlines and procedural requirementsCoordinate court appearances and litigation strategy with the broader teamMaintain organized case files and proactively manage caseload priorities Team EnvironmentApproximately 12 attorneys in the New York officeLitigation team includes 3 core attorneys, one additional support attorney, and 2 paralegals (with hiring underway for a third)Some crossover with the foreclosure transactional group, though this role remains firmly litigation‑centricCollegial, autonomous culture with experienced leadership and minimal hand‑holding Ideal Candidate ProfileThis role is intentionally litigation‑first. While foreclosure or real estate experience is valuable, litigation strength and New York court knowledge are the top priorities.
