Intermediate/Junior Web Developer

Duties Implement new site features and contribute to the continuing improvement of the member experience Refine existing code to current site needs and standards Maintain awareness of best practices in the LAMP and DHTML space Develop optimized, cross-platform, mobile friendly front-end code Convert mockups and graphics to functional layouts and pages Education and Relevant Skills B.S. in Computer Science or related discipline 1+ years hands-on experience with the following technologies: PHP, AJAX, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, JQuery Understanding of Object Oriented development concepts & design Strong written and communication skills Strong debugging and quality assurance skills Capacity to balance work load, priorities and deadlines in a dynamic work environment Nice to Haves Prior exposure to relevant, large-scale social websites Working knowledge of: MySQL Flash development Smarty or similar templating system Email and Instant Messaging standards and protocols Ability and desire to quickly learn and adapt to new languages and techniques Ability to work independently as well as within a team to drive features to completion To apply for this position, please submit a cover sheet and resume to: jobs@socialconcepts.com and reference "Intermediate/Junior Web Developer " in the subject line.
