Location:Hybrid: Telecommute and CARECEN's Los Angeles officeJob Summary:The Central American Resource Center (CARECEN) seeks a full-time, bilingual Data Management Assistant to support RepresentLA (formerly Los Angeles Justice Fund) program administration. CARECEN is the Program Administrator for the Affirmative/Vulnerable Populations Pillar of the RepresentLA program. The Data Management Assistant will help support data management for RepresentLA, working closely with the RepresentLA team—including program lead partners, legal services providers (LSPs), local government, and community partners. The assistant will maintain and compile data and assist with the submission of reports to Los Angeles County and City officials. The Data Management Assistant reports to the Managing DOJ Representative.Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions:Compile and assist in the preparation of data and metrics reporting to ensure LSP compliance with RepresentLA deliverables, including data collection and monthly reports.Ensure all data necessary to comply with reporting requirements is properly recorded to meet Los Angeles County requests for data submissions for their dashboard.Conduct ongoing data entry, compiling and maintaining internal RepresentLA data collection.Communicate with LSPs to monitor completion of action items and solicit data-reporting as requested by Los Angeles County and City officials.Generate, analyze, and present data reports as requested by Los Angeles County and City officials.Assist in updating referral forms and tracking referrals to and from other legal, social, medical, and mental health service providers.Assist drafting updates to CARECEN's RepresentLA website and social media posts.Assist in the development, editing, review, and publishing of program guidance and materials related to data and reporting disseminated to LSPs.Assist in the oversight of program management for LSPs, including onboarding, training, and technical assistance meetings with LSPs; planning and coordinating LSP convenings; coordinating and participating in meetings with Los Angeles County and City officials, the Removal Defense Program Administrator and Lead Subcontractor; and assisting in coordinating site visits or audits set up by Los Angeles County and City officials to evaluate LSPs.Conduct presentations and respond to media requests on relevant immigration issues and in furtherance of the RepresentLA program as needed.Other duties as assigned by the Managing DOJ Representative.Required Skills/Qualifications:Proficiency in Microsoft Word, SharePoint, and Excel.Bachelor's degree or equivalent work/life experience.Broad knowledge of immigration law experience, including affirmative immigration remedies, strongly preferred.Bilingual fluency in spoken and written English & Spanish required.Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills with proven ability to interact appropriately with a diverse group of individuals, including clients, representatives of government, foundations, media, and other grassroots organizations.Strong attention to detail, superb organizational skills, and effective time-management skills required.Good working knowledge of local nonprofits and their respective service areas—or the ability to learn quickly about service availability.Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.Commitment to the mission and goals of CARECEN.Work Environment & Physical Demands:This position operates in a professional office environment. The position requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary. Work is performed in a variety of settings, including CARECEN's offices. A hybrid work-from-home and in-person model is offered. The position is part of the bargaining unit represented by the union.Classification & Work Schedule:This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday. The work schedule is a 35-hour work week, equaling 7-hour workdays. Responsibilities may involve some evening and weekend work and may require flexible schedules.Travel Requirements:The position will be based in the CARECEN Los Angeles office and may require occasional travel to off-site meetings with local agencies and partner organizations.
