Electrical Engineer Full-Time Lafayette, IN Compensation DOE: Up to $110K Meet your Talent Advisor Desmond Nugent Seeking an Electrical Engineer to support, upgrade, and optimize plant production and facility systems at a manufacturing operation in Lafayette, IN. This role is ideal for a technically strong, hands-on engineer who enjoys managing capital projects, improving equipment reliability, and partnering closely with maintenance and operations to drive plant performance. What You’ll Do as an Electrical Engineer: As an Electrical Engineer, you will design, plan, and implement electrical engineering projects focused on improving production equipment, plant systems, and overall operational efficiency. You’ll play a critical role in supporting plant profitability, safety, and long-term capital improvement initiatives. Electrical Engineer Responsibilities Include: Managing electrical engineering projects to meet design specifications, budgets, timelines, and performance goals Engineering electrical upgrades to production equipment, including panels, PLCs, AC/DC drives, HMIs, temperature controllers, alarm systems, and process monitoring systems Supporting maintenance teams by troubleshooting and resolving electrical and electronic issues Writing and modifying PLC, HMI, and PC-based programs for automation and control systems Designing and documenting schematics, layouts, control panels, and automated control solutions Researching, costing, and submitting work orders and capital expenditure requests Coordinating with vendors, suppliers, purchasing, and outside shops for equipment and materials Supporting cost-reduction initiatives through improved engineering design and implementation Ensuring compliance with electrical codes and local, state, and federal regulations Maintaining organized engineering, equipment, and financial documentation Supporting plant safety, environmental, and security initiatives through engineering design What We’re Looking For: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology OR an Associate’s degree with 3+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, power distribution, and plant engineering Hands-on experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen Bradley required) Experience programming and supporting VFDs and HMIs across multiple platforms Proficiency with automation and design software, including: RSLogix 500/5000, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View ME, Siemens Step-7, EZ Series, C-More, and AutoCAD Strong analytical, project management, and multitasking skills Ability to support multiple projects while providing plant-wide technical support Preferred Qualifications: Six Sigma Certification Perks & Benefits: Full benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance) 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Clean, climate-controlled, and safety-focused work environment Long-term career growth with a stable manufacturing organization Send your resume to Kelly Maxwell Career Transitions: Find Your Dream Job or Hire the Best Talent Career Transitions, a Morale Group Company, is a leading recruiting agency that specializes in helping employers find their next critical hire and job seekers find their dream job.
