Overview In this role, you will shape how users understand and navigate Cisco’s complex software across security, observability, and platform products. You’ll partner with product design, product management, engineering, and research to define terminology, IA, and consistent UI text that aligns with Cisco’s design system. You’ll lead content-led patterns and in-product guidance to support onboarding and feature adoption at scale. This position offers a chance to influence across-product standards and drive durable, user-centered decisions in a large-scale product portfolio. Compensation / Benefitsmedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchingpaid parental leavepaid holidays and vacation timesick leave and personal wellness daysbonus or incentive plans (for non-sales roles) ResponsibilitiesDesign clear, consistent UI text across flows (labels, error messages, empty states, onboarding, tooltips) in line with style guide and design systemLead information architecture and navigation design for complex product areas using research to fit user mental modelsDefine and maintain cross-product terminology in collaboration with product management and product marketingDevelop content-led guidelines and patterns (e.g., error messaging standards, capitalization, in-product help) for consistent application by designers and engineersCreate and maintain in-product guidance experiences (walkthroughs, tours) to support onboarding and adoptionCollaborate on design system standards to ensure content patterns are reusable and compliant across the portfolioPartner with design and research on usability studies and card sorting to validate content and navigation decisionsSupport projects lacking dedicated content design coverage with scalable frameworks and AI-assisted tools to maintain quality at scale Key requirementsBachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience5+ years of related experience with content design, UX writing, or similar in complex software productsExperience driving cross-functional alignment on terminology with product, marketing, and engineering teamsStrong ability to craft clear, concise UI text and maintain a consistent voice across surfacesAdaptability and resilience in ambiguityStrong stakeholder communication and persuasionCross-functional collaborationUI text craft: concise, clear writing with consistent voiceInformation architecture, taxonomy, and navigation designFigma experience; familiarity with design systems (e.g., Magnetic is a plus)
