Electrical Engineer

*Electrical Engineer Job Summary* SunPeak, a Madison, Wisconsin-based solar photovoltaic (PV) developer is looking for a full-time Electrical Engineer to join the Engineering Group and design photovoltaic solar systems. This is a newly created position focused on design with an opportunity for the individual to grow into other areas of the business. *Essential Job Functions* * Design photovoltaic solar systems and their interconnection to facilities. * Develop and review construction drawings and specifications. * Work with and manage engineering consultants for disciplines and areas where SunPeak is not licensed or competent. * Support Business Development department with engineering related requests, such as preliminary designs, feasibility studies, cost estimating, and technical support items. * Research emerging technologies and keep on top of current industry trends. * Establish design standards solar PV systems * Participate in corporate initiatives and improvements. * Collaborate with other corporate disciplines, such as Business Development, Construction, Project Management, Marketing, Safety. * Technical writing, including standard operating procedures. *Required Skills, Abilities, and Attributes* * Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering * 0-3 years of design/consulting experience preferred * Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) * Knowledge of construction drawing standards * Knowledge of office procedures and Microsoft tools * Knowledge of AutoCAD * Excellent verbal communication and writing skills * Professional composure in all company contact * Self-directed organizational skills * Must be able to adapt and adjust quickly to changes * In-office role in Madison, WI with hybrid options after 90 days * Interested in pursuing EIT/PE licensure *Compensation and Benefits* This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits including health insurance, 401k eligibility, paid time off, and annual team bonus.
