Domestic jobs and manufacturing are fundamental to our full-lifecycle approach to projects, along with a long-term ownership model and a company culture dedicated to our community partners and protecting the natural environment.Job Summary:This position reports to the Manager of Turbine Engineering, Operations, and provides support for wind turbine engineering issues with the primary responsibility of providing solutions to improve overall wind turbine operating performance. The goals of this position are to improve turbine energy capture by both reducing lost energy as well as increasing turbine efficiency and reliability. The position requires the ability to manage complex and time sensitive projects in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with the engineering and operations team.Key Responsibilities:Applies knowledge to develop and implement solutions to proactively improve plant performance and reliabilityInterprets and analyzes advanced equipment performance data (e.g., SCADA tags, condition monitoring, power quality, event files) to resolve issuesDrives resolution of recurring performance or reliability issues; supports CAPEX/OPEX planning with technical inputOperates with moderate independence; proposes and implements engineering solutions within defined parametersCollaborates with adjacent support groups (e.g., asset management, HSE, and compliance); interfaces with suppliersProactively and effectively interacts with internal and external clients to understand and clarify requirements and provide technical inputInteracts and partners with more senior colleagues across multiple departments, which may include leaders; mentors less experienced team membersAssess solutions for wind turbine technical issues identified at the wind farms including reliability and performance improvementsProvide periodic on-site project management services during the execution of projectsDevelop data analytical models for wind plant operational performanceProduce detailed technical written reports including independent root cause analyses, financial models and payback evaluations, and equipment condition evaluationsQualifications:Required:Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or similar from an ABET-accredited institution 4+ years of relevant technical experience; experience with wind power generation preferredThorough understanding of mechanical and electrical system component design, operation, and maintenanceAbility to read and understand plans, specifications, and drawings, including one-line, three-line, hydraulic, and wiring diagramsAbility to be self-motivated, remain focused, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervisionAbility to manage multiple priorities in a complex, dynamic environmentExcellent communication skills, including ability to clearly communicate ideas to non-technical colleaguesHigh level of competence of MS Office software programsAbility to operate a motor vehicle and possession of a valid driver's licenseAbility to perform physical requirements including standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and climbing at project locationsAbility to work in confined spaces or at great heights (200-300 ft) for prolonged periodsPreferred:Master’s degree preferredWork Environment & Location:Dallas, TX, office-basedWillingness and ability to travel at least 30% of the timeTravel to and work on wind sites in varied weather conditions, including physically demanding work such as climbing wind turbinesApplicants must have current authorization to work for any employer in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for an employment visa now or in the future.
