The PERSEC teams conduct personnel security processing actions enterprise wide. The PERSEC teams work in concert with Contract Security Officers (CSOs) and Facility Security Officers (FSOs), who together work with our government clients, employees and candidates to obtain or maintain government clearances, classified space and system access as well as provide other essential security services for the Amentum business areas. As a PERSEC Specialist, you will work independently and interdependently within the PERSEC Teams to initiate clearance actions, periodic reinvestigations, crossovers; conducting clearance checks, review and process Security Pre-Screen checks, Visit Authorization Requests, CAC's, fingerprint processing, answering questions received from applicants, employees, customers, and other duties as assigned.Roles and Responsibilities :Initiate security background investigations and processing for different security clearance types/levels (T3, T3R; T5, T5Rs) utilizing DISS, NBIS, and using the Fillable SF86 version for certain AgenciesInitiate processing actions for positions requiring Suitability requirements (National Agency Check (NAC), Tier 1; Background Investigation (BI), Moderate Risk Background Investigation (MBI), High Risk Background Investigation, Moderate Risk Positions of Trust (MRPTs), Position of Public Trust. Process Common Access Cards, Homeland Security Presidential Directive-12 (HSPD-12)Work closely with FSO's/CSO's and other Security RepresentativesCoordinate with OPM regarding personnel investigations for completion of clearance processingConduct quality control review of investigation packages (Questionnaire for National Security Positions SF86, 85, 85P's, etc.) to ensure they are complete and accurate prior to submittalAssist employees/candidates with security paperworkProcess and submit SF4311 for clearance actionsSubmit CSR's, request reciprocity within DISSInitiate, process and submit Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Packages and Special Access Program (SAP) PackagesProcess fingerprints through Secure Web Fingerprint Transmission (SWFT) as applicable and or our third party vendorTrack and Maintain clearances in DISS and NBIS (until transition is complete)Create and maintain records in the Amentum Security Database of Record (Gateway)Conduct clearance checks utilizing DISSReview Security Pre-Screen Forms as applicableFamiliarity with PART 147 Adjudicative Guidelines for Determining Eligibility for Access to Classified Information under TITLE 32 - National Defense. Subtitle A - Department of DefenseProcess outgoing visit requests and certificationsOther duties as assignedMinimum Requirements:Secret ClearanceFamiliarity in the use of DISS and NBISHigh School Degree or GED with 2+ years of Personnel Security or Security experienceRequired Skills:Experience processing SF86's (via e-APP and the fillable versions 2008 and 2016)Proficiency with software applications such as MS Office, Outlook and Adobe ProExcellent interpersonal skills be a self-starter and possess the ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment with a "no fail" mentalityStrong commitment to excellence and continuous improvementAbility to effectively manage individual workflowCommunicate effectively both orally and in writingAbility to interact positively with all individuals either in-person, over the phone or via teleconferencing applications.Ability to use discretion when handling sensitive personal informationCompensation Details:$33.65The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued.
